His photographs are part of the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, and the National Portrait Gallery in London. | .About the Artist: He attended Houston’s High School for Performing & Visual Arts and East Texas State University. Moving to New York in 1984, by 1987 he was working for Rolling Stone. Only five years later, Seliger was promoted to chief photographer, a position he maintained until 2002. He was Rolling Stone’s Chief Photographer from 1992-2002, where he shot over 175 covers. He shot regularly for Vanity Fair and GQ. Seliger now shoots frequently for Vanity Fair, Italian Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and many other magazines. In addition, he shoots advertising work for Adidas, Anheuser-Busch, Levi’s, McDonald’s, Netflix, Ralph Lauren, Ray-Ban and many more. About the Artwork: Selinger is known for his portraits of celebrities and political figures. From the beginning Seliger has shown an uncanny ability to build the ideal shoot for each subject using a mix of highly detailed planning and preparation as well as a willingness to go with the flow on the day of.
